Our Story

Her Version:

On April 9, 2024, I had boarded a flight heading to Nigeria. I was feeling nervous, so I plugged in my headphones and listened to music to calm my nerves. Shortly after taking my seat, I heard a voice ask me whether I was seated in the right seat. I looked to my left and saw a tall man with a gleaming smile looking at me expectantly. I examined my ticket and confirmed that I was in the correct seat. The stranger sat in the aisle seat and I went back to listening to my music. The pilot then made an announcement stating that the flight had completed boarding. I looked to my left and realized that the seat between me and the stranger was empty. A few minutes after takeoff, the stranger in the aisle seat turned to me and introduced himself as Bido. We then proceeded to speak for the next 11 hours. When our flight landed Bido asked for my phone number and promised to call me when he returned to the States. I was skeptical but gave him my number. A week later, I received a phone call from Bido. I was impressed with the fact that he was a man of his word. Shortly thereafter we went on our second date (we consider our fateful encounter on the flight our first date).

His Version:

It was a Tuesday evening. After a long drive from Connecticut, I finally boarded my plane. I was tired and I was looking forward to finding my seat and resting on the 11 hour flight. I arrived at my assigned row and saw a beautiful lady seated in the window seat. I believed I had reserved the window seat, so I asked her if she was in the right seat. She nodded. I checked my ticket again and realized that my seat was actually an aisle seat. A few seconds after taking my seat, I introduced myself and began a conversation. The conversation lasted the entire 11 hours until we reached our destination. When we finally parted ways I could not stop thinking about her. During our conversation I promised her that I would send her a book she was interested in. when I got back from my trip a week later, I called her. At first I was unable to reach her, but we finally reconnected two days later. And here we are.

Engagement

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created.
